Folks, Bottom line - a great choice. I live in a 4-plex apartment with a small combined carpeted living/dining room area. When I moved in I had Yamaha 5.1 cube speakers with Bose 301 as fronts which sounded great in my other apartment which had no carpeting. They actually sounded like a $50 system in by new home. I purchase the Mirage OS3-FS Omnipolar Tower Floor standing Speaker - Black and matched them up with an Infinity Primus PC351 center, Mirage Os3-Sat Premium Omnipolar Satellite sides, Bose 301 rear and a BIC America F12 powered subwoofer connected to an old Yamaha RX-V765 as a 7.1 array. I have to say it has change the way I listen to music and movies. Even at low volumes it has fullness and separation truly sounds outstanding. Even my kids (10 & 14) have stated it really sounds great and a huge difference from the old set. My wife after the shock of me purchasing all this equipment now agrees. I haven't actually put the volume up to hear how it really sounds but I'm sure again would sound unbelievable. I do have to give a huge credit to "GatsbyLee" (Amazon) who I purchased these speakers from. They got them out quick and put them through the USPS APO AP system and arrived two to three weeks later (shipped together - arrived separately). Both boxes arrived a bit beat up (USPS/Military handling) but the speakers were well secured in their packaging and arrived without damage.
Finally got these yesterday after a few weeks wait. Took a few minutes to get the settings dialed in with my Denon, but after that WOW! Excellent match with my Os3 Sats and Center. In the past I've tried Sony's, Polk, etc but it never did the trick. My living room is a rectangular shape with a pit group along a wall so I don't really have that much play with speaker placement. The Mirage FS did the trick and rounded out my system. Using a 7.0 setting on the Denon the whole room fills with balanced sound whether I'm listening to music or TV. Switched to Dolby PLIIxC and they fire out perfectly with surround that I did not have when other speakers were on my system.
Pros-Crisp sound, small footprint, nice glass base with carpet spikes, grills snap into place via magnetic dots and they look, well...cool. Cons-Hard to move around as the gloss plastic is hard to get your hands around, took a few tries with placement before I got the sound to my liking.
Had a kef ht 3005 surround system , I hooked up my mirage immediately noticed the difference, the clarity was very noticeable , since then I've changed everything over to mirage. I'm very happy with my system!!!
I have paired these with a Marrantz Receiver and Mirage Omni-Stats for the surround speakers, and a Velodyne SPL 1000 sub for the ultra deep lows. This little home theatre system sounds amazing, "almost" better than the big home theatre system that I have that cost twice the price.
These two speakers I bought as front speakers for my 5.1 home theatre system. The high and mid ranges of sound are crystal clear and charming. They are particularly perfect for listening to concerts. I am really happy to purchase these speakers at discounted price.
