Great for the apartment, not for the workshop
on December 3, 2012
I was skeptical at first because of the low price and what seemed to be connection issues, but within a few minutes the room was filled with great sound and my first new sound tower came alive! I'm using an old iPhone 3G to play pandora along with my music and audiobooks, and since it was to be permanently in the dock I hoped to avoid any connection problems that could occur from repeated docking/undocking. However this was not to be. The port broke after a week or two from just selecting the music to play, and after a while the jack broke off inside. I managed to give it a little more life by hacking an old headphone cable into the audio input connections but it did not hold out much longer. I salvaged it for parts and now the empty shell of a speaker tower haunts my closet.
This is maybe good for somebody who will connect it to an aux input jack to a computer and never touch it again, but it's definitely constructed without an ounce of thought to longevity or resilience and one gets what one pays for. Was it worth it? No. I bought a much cheaper set of Logitech z313's once this finally keeled over and died and I'm much happier with them. Listen to the reviews, kids.
