I love this pouch! Its definitely waterproof (I accidently dropped it into the sink one day and it completely submerged, but my Kindle was safe, dry and unharmed.)
I only use this though when I'm near water (like when I'm supervising my kids in the bath). The plastic in the front shows every water mark after it dries and its smudged a bit when I try to clean it off.

It's a good idea and did keep the sand and salt air away from my Kindle but the glare on the plastic cover was so bad I couldn't even read anything so it was useless. I was under a beach umbrella not out in the sun.

My wife is an avid reader of books, magazines, etc. and this done at the beach, in the swimming pool, soaking in the hot tub etc.. She has on occasion dropped the kindle into the water and onto the wet sand with no ill effects.

I always read in the bathtub, so I put my kindle in this product to keep it dry. It works great.

This item is good for the pool, if you have really good shade but if not there is no reason to take my Kindle Fire out in the sun because you cannot read it in the sun. The same goes for the beach. This would be a great product but I don't need it for inside my home or car.
