I swapped out for Niles CM7MP speakers for Niles DS7HD speakers out in my patio ceiling. Before installation I wanted to decrease the vibration and tighten up the sound. I was going to put in Dynamat Dynabox Speaker Enclosures when I just happened to find this enclosure by chance.
The DS7HD speakers snap right into this and then there is a set screw. I was not able to get the set screw to set just right so a stainless steel flat head machine screw was used. It is very important to check out the clearance in the ceiling to make sure these will fit. Since these were being swapped out it was easy to take the old speakers out and feel around to make sure there was no obstruction. These are rigid plastic so there is no forgiveness in that regard.
It sounds great. What is not obvious from the literature is that the enclosure is packed full of sound insulation material. There is also fat gauge speaker wire that goes inside the enclosure to attach to the connectors on the speaker and then it goes to the connectors on the outside of the enclosure.
