This was a risky purchase from the start because the description and photos lacked detail. These speaker stands aren't functional in my opinion and I'm not using them. The speaker is held place by pushing the mounting outlet at the back of the speaker onto a small plastic tab sticking up at the back of the speaker stand. There's a back clip that hides the wire but adds little if any support, it slides over the bottom base without locking to it. That's not enough to hold the speaker; and I'm sure you don't want your expensive speaker dangling three feet in the air. The base piece isn't a flat, solid surface; it's molded and the speaker sits on the edges (like those metal shelf brackets). The center is hollow so you can't add Velcro. You're better off using the wall mounts that come with the speakers, looking elsewhere, or placing them on side tables.
