Despite being an Amazon company woot.com doesn't have prime shipping. Woot also has abysmal customer service AND they don't even pretend to stand by their products. If you have a problem with something you bought from them you're on your own.

it shows free shipping when it's put in my cart.

**edit to add** I got some storage containers like this last year before Thanksgiving and the shipping was free also, but I didn't get them for 10 days or so.

It is most generous of wooT! to not sell us food storage containers that contain a hazardous compound. However, I do not see any information on exactly what is in the material that has been used. And it would be interesting to know where these things are made, what quality control process is used to keep bad things from getting into the materials used. If I had to purchase food storage containers, well, IMO glass is a better material. You can see the difference.

I personally like this brand over any other because of the ease of use and strength of the lids. Is is very easy to pop up the four "locks" on any container and just as easy to snap shut. In comparison other brands either don't seal as well, or it is difficult to open or close the seal and/or they rip or break after repeated use and start wearing down after a time.
I use the glass container Lock&Lock for cooked food storage. I don't care if it's BPA free or not, any plastic type container will seep a bit of material when in contact with hot food. It's just my preference and opinion.
These sets that are on sale should be great for dry goods. The price is low enough that I'm going to buy one of each. I just moved and will use these to organize things from my sundries, laundry room items, under counter kitchen items. These boxes are fantastic and if you like to organize, these are perfect. They are a thick plastic, not the thin type.
I have spent much money over the years on crappy plastic containers that crack and break and are a pain to use. The Lock&Lock are durable and are a pleasure to open and close.
Amazon is selling Lock&Lock storage bins at the buy 4 pay 3 deal and I just bought 4.

Absolutely disagree with the Woot evaluation. I have purchased many items from Woot and have not been disappointed with price, quality, or shipping. Recently I put in the wrong zip code and the package got lost in transit. Woot sent a replacement with two day delivery.

I'd order these containers but I prefer the version with handles. We often deliver food to neighbors and the handles prove surprisingly useful.

I checked on the five, five star reviews of the lock and lock. The only products they have reviewed are lock and lock products.

Some people are dumping on WOOT! and I think they are being unfair. Since W0ot! is owned by ^A^ you must assume that everything that is true for one is true for the other. When you see an item from WoOt! you should expect at the very least the quality and service you expect from ^A^ and when you see an item from ^A^ you should not expect any better service than you would get if it were from wOOt!

Before ^A^ purchased W00T! they both had their reputations. The only conceivable reason that ^A^ would purchase Wo0t! is to bring the WooT! reputation into the fold and make both into one. Have they succeeded? I think so. If you look at the typical GBD since they acquired wooT! you will note that they are generally no better than the typical w00t! deal. Congratulations ^A^ you have made your standards and WoOt! standards one in the same.

My only complaints with the sets I have purchased from woot.com are that some of the containers are small and that they don't nest well.

These are made of thick PBA-free plastic and have survived several trips through my dishwasher. They seal tight and can be opened and closed with one hand. I have dropped full containers (for testing purposes only) and the haven't opened or even leaked.

I have recycled all my Glad containers and just use these.

True about no Prime shipping, but this deal is an Amazon deal, and shipping on these items is free, even if you buy only the $22.99 item.

As for Woot's "abysmal customer service," that's simply not true. The FAQs at woot are a bit cheeky and snarky; woot will actually stand behind its products and fight with manufacturers on behalf of customers if there's an actual problem. Where woot differs is in the return policy, where they follow closer to a European model: if you're not sure you want it, don't buy it. Woot staff have always been very helpful whenever I've had questions or screwed up an order on my end.

Note: I have no affiliation whatsoever w/woot, beyond being a frequent shopper and occasional customer.

I have checked the Woot warranties they say they stand behind nothing and you have to deal with manufacturer. I can only go by what they post so I will not buy from them. Amazon gold box deals should be amazon.

Susan, It's free standard shipping. It will take a while for your package to arrive. Do you like this brand? I never heard of it before. I don't want Pyrex. Glass is too heavy. I have some Sucker - I mean Tupperware, but it's mostly canisters and cake carriers.

Woot.com sells discontinued, slow moving, and refurbished products. They don't stock a regular inventory. All sales are final. This is not an unusual business practice, especially when they say it up front.

That said, they will replace or refund things that arrive broken. They will replace things that get lost in the mail. What they won't do is ship it to you for you to try out before you commit to the purchase.

My husband bought me this set and take a look at how all of the containers are "stacked". This is how much space they take in your cupboard or wherever you choose to put them. THEY DO NOT "NEST." Also, I bought an additional two woot LOCK & LOCK sets thinking the nesting ones were cool until I found out that even though these sets had the brand name "Lock & Lock" their lids were not interchangeable and it is truly frustrating when you put food in one and literally have to try 3 different lids before you get the one that fits. THE LIDS ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE! Stick with disposable Glad containers that nest and all use same lids!

Carrie, says:
non-nestable, non-interchangeable lid = deal breaker. I bought the (probably non BPA free) Rubbermaid red lid containers from Sams (also offered on GBDeals at least a couple of times). They are still going strong. I've probably lost a lid or two, but since they are interchangeable, I don't sweat it that much.

Would have bought these, but I pay for a Prime membership for a reason, and if you are a company owned by Amazon you should be able to get Prime shipping. A deal of the day, or a lightning deal, should definitely be something that has Prime shipping.

In reply to an earlier post on Feb 11, 2012 6:13:53 AM PST
Containers within the same sets are interchangeable. There may be different sets with different lids, but the two sets I have use the same lids for the same sizes.

Yes I like these containers Hb. I've been using them to freeze chili and veggie soup in them. I don't microwave them though,,, I take the soup out of the freezer and let it thaw in the fridge for a day,, pour it in a pyrex bowl and then nuke it. They seem to seal very well. I've reused many of them 12-15 times and they still look like new.

I have purchased many different sets of Lock and Lock products over the years from QVC and think they are the best containers. Please n0te that on QVC they do not count each top and bottom as a separate piece, so if it says 12 piece set you are getting 12 tops and bottoms. There is also a large variety of products there. No matter where you buy this is a great product.

As someone who has made purchases from Woot for 6 years I have to come to their defense. Their customer service is second only to Amazon among all the internet companies with whom I've dealt. They clearly describe the items they sell and quickly answer any questions asked. Their return policy is clearly explained but they have been willing to make exceptions when circumstances dictate.

Considering buying one of these sets, but would like to know the sizes of the containers in each set. The product description for both sets only describes 7 containers even though there are 13 in one set and 16 in another. The picture is not enough.

I purchased a set from Woot. I have been very pleased with the quality. I too, wish they stacked better. I have been a Woot customer for several years. I have only had two bad products. On both occasions, Woot was great in offering a replacement or a refund.
