Victor Manuelle

As all of Spanish-speaking America is aware, Víctor Manuelle is a great musical talent. Manuelle’s commercial success is obvious to anyone who’s turned on Latin radio since 1993 - he has sixteen studio albums to his credit, all of them hits, and three live albums. Mentored in his early career by Gilberto Santa Rosa, Manuelle is known as a formidable repentista, or improviser of rhymes. He became famous as an interpreter of complex, radio-ready lyrics of amor y desamor – love and its trials, but the power of his performances comes from his mastery of traditional Puerto Rican singing.

Víctor Manuelle’s first album, Justo a Tiempo, came out in 1993, followed by Sólo Contigo the next year. His third album, the Sergio George-produced Víctor Manuelle (1996) was his commercial breakthrough, and 1997's A Pesar de Todo was even bigger. Manuelle has been in the public eye ever since. Ironías (1998), Inconfundible (1999), Instinto y Deseo (2001) and Le Preguntaba a la Luna (2002) were all chart-toppers with substantial radio hits. In March 2004, Manuelle’s ninth studio album, Travesía, produced by Emilio Estefan, went to #1 on the Billboard charts. In 2005 he released two live albums: Dos Soneros, his collaboration with Gilberto Santa Rosa, recorded live at San Juan’s Estadio Roberto Clemente, and Víctor Manuelle En Vivo Desde El Carnegie, recorded live at Carnegie Hall. In 2006 he released Decisión Unánime, which featured two numbers with Eddie Palmieri. Later that year he also released his third live album and a DVD of En Vivo Desde El Madison Square Garden, followed by Navidad A Mi Estilo, his first album on his own label, Kiyavi Records. Navidad A Mi Estilo immediately went #1 and became the top selling Christmas album of the year. In 2008 Manuelle released “Navidad a Mi Estilo – Edición Especial” (Special Edition). 2009 brought “SOY” and later in the year the concept all-ballad album “Muy Personal”.

Victor Manuelle’s growing confidence and maturity have allowed him to become more involved in the production side of his albums. He has also written many of his own hits. He has toured the world and performed to sold out concerts at world-renowned venues like Madison Square Garden and Carnegie Hall.

Throughout his career, Victor Manuelle has earned countless honors, including recognition at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, Lo Nuestro Awards, ASCAP Latin Music Awards ,El Diario La Prensa’s El Awards. a Proclamation from the City of New York, a special honor by The Boys and Girls Club in Puerto Rico and was named the 2006 “International Godfather” of the National Puerto Rican Day Parade. In May of 2008 he was awarded The ASCAP Golden Note Award by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. Premios Lo Nuestro 2009 presented him with 2 Lo Nuestro Awards. On June 12, 2008 Victor Manuelle released SOY, his second album released on his own Kiyavi Records and in December 2008 he released “Victor Manuelle Una Navidad A Mi Estilo Edicion Especial” and May 5th marked the release of his new and first all-ballad album titled “Muy Personal”. That summer in June, 2009 Victor Manuelle was named “King” of the National Puerto Rican Parade.

November 10, 2009 marked the return to the tropical music scene with the release of his 5th production on his own Kiyavi Records titled “YO MISMO”.
The album obtained the #1 position in the tropical music charts and it remains one of the most sold albums of 2009.

In March 2010 Billboard Magazine dedicated a Tribute Issue to Victor Manuelle celebrating his career achievements and received a nomination of a Juventud Award in the category of “Tropical Artist of the Year”. Manuelle finished 2010 with a bang by presenting 3-sold out performances of his show “Victor Manuelle – Una Navidad en Mi Barrio El Concierto Teatral” at the Center for the Performing Arts in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

His new CD titled “Busco Un Pueblo” will be released November 21, 2011. “Busco Un Pueblo” delivers a message of unity and encouragement to all Latinos. The new single was written by Oscar "Oscarcito" Hernandez and has Victor Manuelle's unique style stamp. The CD is packed with traditional tropical music elements and contemporary sounds.

Como esta comprobado, Víctor Manuelle ha demostrado que es posible poseer la elegancia y simultáneamente ser un gran músico. Su éxito comercial es obvio para cualquiera que ha sintonizado alguna estación radial a partir de 1993, con quince producciones musicales en estudio y tres producciones en vivo, Victor ha sido reconocido como un excelente sonero. Alcanzó la fama al interpretar letras románticas complejas, ya listas para la radio, sobre el amor y el desamor, pero la fortaleza de sus presentaciones provienen de la maestría que posee en el canto puertorriqueño.

Su primera producción discográfica, Justo a Tiempo, sale al mercado en 1993, seguido de Solo Contigo el próximo año. Su tercer álbum, producido por Sergio George, Víctor Manuelle (1996) fue su éxito comercial, y en 1997 fue mucho mayor al lanzar A pesar de Todo. Nunca ha estado fuera del ojo público desde entonces. También en el 2006 lanza Decisión Unánime, en el cual incluyó dos números con Eddie Palmieri. Luego en el 2007 lanza su tercera producción En Vivo Desde El Madison Square Garden seguido por “Una Navidad A Mi Estilo,” su primer álbum bajo su propio sello, Kiyavi Records. “Una Navidad A Mi Estilo” inmediatamente ocupo la posición #1 y se convirtió en el disco navideño de mayor venta ese año. En el 2008 Manuelle presentó “Navidad A Mi Estilo – Edición Especial” y el 2009 trajo consigo su producción “SOY” y más tarde este año el proyecto especial en balada titulado “Muy Personal”.

La creciente confianza y madurez de Víctor le han permitido involucrarse mucho más en el lado de la producción de sus trabajo musicales y lo han llevado a escribir muchos de propios éxitos. Ha viajado el mundo con su música y ha llenado a capacidad sus conciertos en plazas tan importantes como el Madison Square Garden y el Carnegie Hall.

A través de su carrera Víctor Manuelle se ha ganado innumerables honores y reconocimientos como “Billboard Latin Music Awards, “Premio Lo Nuestro”, “Premio ASCAP a la Música Latina”, “Proclama de la Ciudad de Nueva York”, “El Award” de El Diario La Prensa, Niños y Niñas Escuchas, “Padrino Internacional” de la Parada Nacional Puertorriqueña, ASCAP Golden Note Award y en el 2009 fue nombrado “Rey del Desfile Puertorriqueño”.

En marzo del 2010 la Revista Billboard le dedicó una edición especial celebrando los logros de su carrera y recibió igualmente una nominación al “Artista Tropical del Año” en Premios Juventud. El 2010 lo culminó con “Una Navidad En Mi Barrio El Concierto Teatral” en el Centro de Bellas Artes en San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Su nueva producción titulada “Busco Un Pueblo” sale al mercado el mes de noviembre del corriente. El álbum lleva el título para “llevar un mensaje de unidad, superación y es una exhortación a todos los Latinos. Su sencillo correspondiente “Si Tu Me Miras” de la autoría de lleva plasmado el estilo característico de Victor Manuelle fusionado con elementos tradicionales y actuales.
