Biography
Alan Silvestri is a US-born film score composer who has supplied music for over 70 films and TV series. His best known works include Forrest Gump and the Back to the Future trilogy.
Silvestri scored his first film, The Doberman Gang, in 1972. He got the opportunity through a friend and took it as the band he was in at the time were going through some difficulties. After a few years, and some TV work, including Starsky and Hutch and CHiPs, the film director Robert Zemeckis called on Silvestri to write music for his 1984 film Romancing the Stone.
